Funny Boxing Memory:

My first amateur fight. I was so nervous, shaking, etc. I ended up winning 25 seconds into the first round... Big sigh of relief when it was over and my mum nervously cursing in the background as she recorded the fight.

Toughest Part about being a fighter:

Not being able to spend time with my girlfriend. Alot people say training is the hardest part, but that's the part I love. Toughest Opponent Faced: Tyrone "Cyclone" Tongia

What's your training routine before a fight like:

Running four times a week, combo of long runs and hill/stair sprints. Lots of partner technique work and sparring, non stop punching bag work to get the shoulders burning up and heart rate up. Resistance work, mix of weights and pool resistance sessions and back and neck resistance work as well.

Who would you like to fight in the next twelve months... put them in order and tell the readers why for each opponent:

In no particular order, I just want to stay busy with competitive fights; Heath Ellis, Eddie Delic, Leigh Purcell, Matt Paulley, Wills Brothers, Steve Maxwell, Bobby Antonakos, Ruben Kennedy, Shannon McMahon, Frank LoPorto, Johnny Cotterill, etc. All of these fights would be tough fights that would help me to improve and mature in my boxing.

On February 28th, you're booked in to fight Andrew Gosden for the third time, this time at light-middleweight. Are you having trouble making the welterweight limit:

That fight is off, I am now fighting Robert Toomey from NSW. As for the weight, I will still be fighting at welterweight, just this fight we agreed to fight at Light-Middleweight. I will be able to come into the fight fully hydrated and strong without having to worry about the weight.

Kanofski is a great boxing family. Can you the readers an insight into the fighting Kanofski's, If there is an argument between the boys do you reason it out or just go out the back to settle it:

I am very lucky to have such a supportive family. As for me and my brothers, we all get on well so there are never any issues between us. We do have the occasional sparring session that heats up a little bit, but I guess thats just us trying to get the better of each other... brotherly competitiveness.

Your only loss was to Filipino Trial horse Ariel Omongos which was by fifth round TKO, do you want to even the ledger and have a second crack at him:

Yeah that was a tough loss, but I learnt from it so it was a valuable lesson. Yeah I would a chance to even the ledger with him if the opportunity came up. You always want another chance to get one back.

Boxing is a sport where you are only as good as your last fight. You came off a great upset win over Tyrone Tongia. Why did you follow it up with a fight against a debut fighter:

That was a late notice fight I took to help out promoter Noel Thornberry's fight night as he had a few fights fall through at the last minute. So I was more than happy to help out Noel as he is a family friend and has always been good to our family.

Would you rather be Champion of your country or fight for a Major Regional. What are your thoughts on this:

I would rather an Aussie Title, but I am happy to just enjoy my sport and let the rest take care of itself. Ideally I would love the opportunity to travel overseas and get some fights. Somewhere like Japan as I have seen and heard of a few Aussies getting fights over there... would be awesome if my brother and I could do it together.

If you were to campaign as a Light-Middleweight, Frank Lo Porto would be a great step up. Would you consider fighting him:

I have watched Frank fight a few times. He is a great fighter and I would be willing to take a fight with Frank. He is very fit and strong so I think it would make for a nonstop action fight.

Being blessed with a knockout punch is a great advantage... You have won the majority of your fights on decision. Does this bother you:

Not really... There are plenty of successful fighters out there who do not have a big punch. I feel that my power has come along in leaps and bounds since my first round knockout win over Brian Fogarty. I am feeling alot more confident with my power now.

Shannon McMahon is going for the IBF Australasian Light-Middleweight Title, if successful would you like to fight him for his belt:

Shannon is another guy who providing the terms are right, we would be willing to fight. I saw his fight with Mick Shaw and he looked like a very sharp boxer.

You have won and defended the Queensland Welterweight Title. Do you plan on challenging for the Australian Title anytime soon:

Probably a little way off an Aussie Title just yet but I am in no rush. When the time is right it will happen. It has been a dream of mine to be an Aussie Champ ever since I started Boxing. So hopefully someday it will happen.

Victorian Champion Steve Maxwell is in a funny situation, where he is a Tasmanian but owns the Victorian Title. Would you like to come to Victoria and fight a Tasmanian for the Victorian Title:

I was thinking the same thing myself, not sure how it works. I fought Steve in the amateurs and he beat me so I would love the chance to even the score. Probably the most daunting atmosphere I have fought in when I fought Steve. Five hundred mad Tasmanians going nuts for their hometown fighter. Great Experience, we where looked after very well... had a great time.

In boxing circles, your known as a good bloke. Is it difficult being a decent fella in such a hard business like professional boxing:

Thanks for the kind words. I just try to be myself and treat people how I would like to be treated. At the end of the day, Boxing is just a sport like soccer, football, etc. So you don't have to hate the people you fight. One of my good mates James Whitbourne (Jimmy James) I actually fought three times.

In closing, is there anyone you would like to thank:

My girlfriend Carly and her family. My family and especially my Dad who gets me fights through his promotions and my brother Tim for all the work we do together. They all make it possible.
