Weekend Review
A brief round-up of the weekend's action;
VAZQUEZ KO'S SONSONA FOR VACANT CROWN

Wilfredo Vazquez Jr, son of legendary Puerto Rican Wilfredo Vazquez joined the father-son world champion list when he knocked out former WBO super-flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona to earn the vacant WBO super-bantamweight championship.
Vazquez dropped the 19-year old Sonsona with a combination in fourth round. The most damaging punches of the flurry were two left rips that sent Sonsona to the canvas for the ten-count.
The first round was fairly uneventful with both fighters cautious and feeling each other out. Vazquez began to pull ahead in second round as he demonstrated excellent ring generalship for the remaining rounds; Vazquez also showed great composure, especially after losing the first round.
After the fight, Sonsona recovered quickly and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship as he congratulated Vazquez. In a post-fight interview, Vazquez complimented Sonsona and said that he had trained hard and was in great shape because he knew he was going up against Sonsona, who he called one of the best boxers in the world. He dedicated the fight to his country of Puerto Rico.
Vazquez fought an aggressive fight and ended the night with a record of 18-0-1 with 15 knockouts.
Sonsona, who suffered his very first defeat, now has a record of 14-1-1 with 12 knockouts. At only 19 years of age, Sonsona still has plenty of time to recover from this upsetting loss.
